Since 1921, Tully Building Supply has evolved significantly, yet its commitment to community and loyalty to its customers remains unwavering. As the oldest continuously operated family business in Tully, it was founded by John L. Schultz, an entrepreneur from Skaneateles. Originally, Schultz sold locally grown produce, later transitioning the business into a feed mill. It’s convenient location near the railroad tracks facilitated the receipt and delivery of goods such as produce, coal, and other essentials to homes in Tully and throughout the surrounding area.
Today, under fifth-generation ownership, Jay Shaw, Tom and Kim’s son-in-law, carries forward the family legacy and values. Tully Building Supply now employs 40 full- and part-time staff and offers a wide range of building materials and hardware, including kitchen cabinets, windows, doors, and millwork. Its second location, Alpine Building Supply in Moravia, New York, extends service into New York’s southern tier, enhancing accessibility and delivery times in these regions.
